The first of the two KTM bikes on this list is the 690 Enduro R, often hailed as an off-road scalpel. It is a lightweight and nimble bike designed to conquer technical terrain with precision.
I had a ktm 690 enduro r and it was definitely better offroad but onroad it's no comparison, T7 is a better all around bike imo. If you weren't doing any highway riding and just wanted something barely street legal it would be a different answer. If I was choosing a bike to ride around the world on the T7 would be on the short list. Ultimate MotorCycling reviews the 2013 KTM 690 Enduro R dual sport motorcycle (test). With semi-short suspension and soft response, one might expect that its single-track credentials will be KTM 500 EXC-F – plenty of power, best for off-road and experienced riders ; Honda XR650L – simple, reliable, stable/heavier, and good all-around; KTM 690 Enduro R – Great engine, a little heavier and more stable than the 650 dual-sport bikes; Husqvarna 701 Enduro – Same as KTM 690 but β€œwhite” They’re so committed to the dual sport segment that they have three separate models with nearly identical intentions: Tractionator Adventure: 25% Road - 75% Offroad. Tractionator Desert H/T: 15% Road/ 85% Offroad. Tractionator RallZ: 10% Road/ 90% Offroad. If I’m being honest, you can have a great time on all three.

The 690 is certainly better offroad than any drz. I've done OBCDR for 8 days on it carrying everything, with 3 other riders, 2 of which also bought 690's (and also amateur racers), the other was a retired pro that picked an rxv. We all found it the perfect long distance light adventure bike. It does ride tall which is a turn off for shorter riders.
As a short, female motorcycle rider, Kris tries out several Giant Loop soft luggage options on her KTM 690 Enduro R to help solve issues she was having with
The KTM's are the extremes. The EXC's will be much better dirt bikes than the WRR and the 690 will be a much better road bike. To me, the WRR fits in the middle. It's both a solid road bike and a solid dirt bike that can take you down pretty much any trail a novice to intermediate rider would probably go. TV4ngry.
