In 6th gear. 5300 rpm nets 70mph indicated. 6000 rpm nets 80mph indicated. I'd rate the new gearing as a winner for folks wanting to get into the working gears a bit quicker and wanting a grunty 1st. If an all day long 90MPH interstate run is on the agenda then 15/45 or 16/47 is the better choice.
Gas grade. I recently got a RC390. The dealership told me I should get 91. But my other friends who also rides KTM says 89 is sufficient, getting 91 is just a waste of money. regular (usually 87 octane) mid-grade (usually 89 octane) premium (usually 91 or 93) Thanks! I always put 99 in.

The last time I rode KTM’s base model middleweight adventure bike was during the 790 Adventure/R introduction in Morocco.We spent half of a day on the 790 Adventure on mostly sand strewn two-lane highways with a little time off the side of the road in sandy, flat terrain.
The Ténéré 700’s and the 790 Adventure R’s seat heights are similar: the T7’s is 875 mm; the 790 R’s is 880 mm. Without looking at the specs, I would guess that the 790 R was lower – due in part to its low-slung tank, which creates an exceptionally slim midsection and drops the weight to feel stable when the bike is standing still.
